Magnetized by Mt Kilimanjaro, the hikers often overlook Mt Meru, the second highest peak of Tanzania. Approaching Kilimanjaro from the south-west, we take the popular Machame Route, with a total trip time of seven days, this is giving us even more acclimatization time and an even better chance of reaching the summit. This safari is perfect for those who only have a 2-day stay in Tanzania and wish to visit, experience and have great memories of two of Tanzania safari destinations. Marvel at the amazing landscapes and spectacular wildlife of Mkomazi National Park and Arusha National Park. This is one of our most popular tours as it allows you to spend a very reasonable amount of time in these two destinations.

We start early in the morning and are accompanied by our English-speaking guide. The road takes us through beautiful landscapes: African bushland where we see dried-up river beds, baobab and acacia trees, and some plantations. Maasai Village Once we arrive in the village, please remember to be a respectful guest and don‘t take pictures of the villagers without asking. During the visit, you will have a chance to mingle with the Maasai and chat with them, but your social skills and creativity will determine how much they open up to you. Your English-speaking guide will assist you and translate into Kimaasai, as the Maasai themselves do not speak any other languages. 7 days climbing Lemosho Route is one of the best options for climbing Kilimanjaro. The route provides plenty of time for acclimatization and takes in the entire scenery of the mountain as it practically traverses it from west to east. The access via the western route requires a bit longer drive to the trail head but is well worth it as you get to drive through some wild country and may even be lucky enough to spot buffalo or an elephant. During the first few days of the trek, you will ascend the western flank of the mountain a side of mountain few visitors reach as you ascend through the lowland jungles to the Shira Plateau. Climbers spend the afternoon resting here before making a midnight summit push. It's a 6-hour slog to the crater rim and another hour of traversing across the rim of the crater to reach Uhuru Peak the final summit and highest point in Africa.

Starting from the Rongai gate, the route traverses several diverse climate zones, and each produces its own amazing views and experiences. Because of its remote location the route offers trekkers a relatively unspoilt wilderness experience where it is possible to see large wildlife like antelope, elephant and buffalo. Heading up to Kikelewa Caves on day two, the views start to open up, with the Amboseli Plains of Kenya stretching into the distance. The route continues up to the mountain’s second summit at Mawenzi, before crossing the Saddle, a barren plain that connects the two peaks of Mawenzi and Kibo. After reaching the summit, the descent is along the more heavily travelled Marangu route, offering you the chance to see Mount Kilimanjaro from both sides.

TWO-DAY HIKE ON MOUNT KILIMANJARO (MARANGU ROUTE) This two-day hike up the famous Mount Kilimanjaro is perfect for those wanting to experience Mount Kili without going to the top. Following the Marangu route this hike takes you 4 – 6 hours up to the Mandara Huts on the first day and 3 – 4 hours up to Horombo on day 2. You pass through jungles and rocky landscapes, see Kibo on clear days and enjoy amazing views in general. We’ll pick you up from your hotel in the morning for the long ride to the Chemka Hot Springs. The road is bumpy and windy, so hang on! During the ride, don’t forget to enjoy the wonderful scenery and authentic Tanzanian life as it unfolds along the road. When we arrive, you’re free to be you. Linger at the edge of the springs, taking in the blue, blue waters and the lush green of the surrounding forest. Take a leisurely swim (don’t forget that the water is not truly warm, so you won’t feel like an Olympic sprint) or float in a world that’s all your own, listening to the water lapping and the birds overhead but rather refreshing since the water source is from the Kilimanjaro mountain itself..
