We’ll pick you up from your Moshi hotel early morning for the hour-long drive to the Chemka Hot Springs. The road is very bumpy and windy, so hang on! During the drive, don’t forget to enjoy the wonderful scenery and authentic Tanzanian life as it unfolds along the road.

Machame Route or the “whiskey route” is one of the most popular routes due to its picturesque views and varied landscapes. However, climbing through Machame Route is a bit difficult as compared to Marangu route. Even though the walk on the Machame route is steeper and longer, still the success rate is higher than the Marangu route.
Machame Route is not technically difficult, but the climb is more exhausting as it has many ups and downs crossing a chain of valleys and ridges. Therefore, the route is best suited for people with some hiking or trekking experiences and for those who love adventures. For first-timers the climbers, the route can be tiring.
Machame Route starts from the south, heading towards the east, navigating beneath the southern ice fields ahead of summiting. Usually, the minimum days to summit Kilimanjaro through this route is six, but seven days is recommended.

Entandrophragma excelsum, is Africa's tallest indigenous tree native to tropical East Africaand occurs in eastern D.R.of the Congo, Rwanda, Burundi, Uganda, Tanzania, Malawiand Zambia. This species is scattered in areas of upland semi-deciduous forest, in mid-altitude and montane rainforest, at (925 –) 1280 – 2150 altitude. It is locally also found in riverine forest.

The Marangu route takes you at a gentle pace through forests, moorlands and then across The Saddle, a high-altitude desert separating the main summit, Kibo, 5895m, from craggy Mawenzi, 5149m, to Kibo Hut. From here an early start is made for the ascent to Uhuru Point (the top of Kibo). The path zig-zags up steep scree which is easier to climb when frozen.
The views from the crater rim at Gillman’s Point at dawn can be spectacular. Uhuru Peak lies just above. This is a tough walking trip but within the limits of a fit individual used to walking in mountain areas. An extra day for acclimatisation to the altitude is recommended at Horombo from where there are various walks to enjoy.
This route provides the opportunity to “trek high and sleep low” which is considered important in minimizing the potential for altitude sickness.
The climb starts above the picturesque mountain village of Machame to the south of Kilimanjaro. After passing through the Machame forest and into the moorland zone, we scramble up and over some rocks and eventually emerge onto the Shira Plateau. We then advance counter-clockwise traversing below the southern face of Kibo, climb Lava Tower for magnificent 360 degree panoramas, ascend the Great Barranco Wall, a challenging and exhilarating rock scramble, and approach Uhuru Summit from Barafu or Kossovo Camp and the ridge that abuts the Southeast Valley. The climb from Barafu offers incredible views of Mawenzi Peak and Kilimanjaro’s remnant volcanic cone.
The 8-Day Lemosho Route offers a picturesque and less-traveled path to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro. With ample time for acclimatization, trekkers can enjoy stunning views and diverse ecosystems while increasing their chances of reaching Uhuru Peak. This tour includes two nights at a comfortable hotel in Arusha, all necessary park fees, meals, and a dedicated support crew to ensure a memorable experience. This tour offers the customer a good chance to succeed in the climb of Mt. Kilimanjaro. As we say here the more days you spend on the mountain the higher chance of success. This will be the first day starting the hike through Machame gate, we summit on the sixth night and by the seventh night we are back at the Mweka gate. We are a locally owned run, certified, and licensed Tour Company with years of experience. We make sure all our staff are paid well from our guides to our porters. We value the well-being of our staff as well as our customers that's why before the trip begins we make sure to inspect the gear of both the staff and the customer. This is a popular route up steep paths through magnificent forests to gain a ridge leading through the moorland zones to the Shira Plateau. It then traverses beneath the glaciated precipices of the Southern Icefields to join the Barafu Route to the summit. An extra day could be added to the itinerary, best spent on the Shira Plateau, where you could walk to the Shira Needles. Strong groups could omit camping at Karanga River. The Mweka Route is used for the descent.
Accommodation on the mountain is in tents, which the porters will pitch for you. You will need a sleeping bag, warm clothes and walking poles. This is a steep, tough trek within the limits of a fit individual used to walking in mountain areas.
The climb commences at Londorossi Gate which is situated at an altitudinal level of 2360 meters and approaches far to the west of the mountain before circling around Kilimanjaro to the south. It passes through majestic dense rain forest and offer sightings of most unique wildlife of the region. The route then leads all the way up to the third summit of the mountain at Shira Ridge. Then you’ll cross the famed Shira plateau and see the beautiful Shira Cathedral before reaching the Shira Camp on day three. Thus the initial few days offer a quiet climbing experience overlooking the amazing terrain before embarking on a more challenging and heavily traveled route to the summit. Descend is done by the Mweka trail instead of retracing along the ascent route.
The Umbwe Route is the least used, least crowded route on the mountain. For good reason, it is also the most difficult route on the mountain. Umbwe is a steep, constant, straight climb to the top.
Umbwe is mostly avoided because the ascent profile does not give climbers much time to adjust to the altitude. The success rate is very low.
The route takes six days minimum to complete, although seven days is recommended. The descent is down Mweka, on the south-east side of the mountain. Umbwe is not as scenically varied as Machame, Lemosho and Shira, because the path up and down is nearby.
The Umbwe is ideal for those who want a challenging climb, and are very confident in their ability trek over consistently steep slopes. Also, Umbwe is for those who are experienced at altitude and thus are confident that the punishing schedule of Umbwe will not impede their ability to adjust to the altitude. Umbwe is also for those who want a secluded hike.

Descend down into the crater for a full day game drive inside the crater.
