If you are not quite sure whether you are ready for a full Kilimanjaro adventure, you might want to take one of our shorter Kilimanjaro trips via Marangu route. Only one or two days on the mountain will be enough to give you a full picture of what it takes to be part of a Kilimanjaro trekking expedition. This adventure is perfect if you travel with children who are not ready for the full hike yet, or if your holiday is too short but you still want to enjoy the trip. On these hikes, you will reach the lower camps of Kilimanjaro, delve into pristine tropical wilderness, and see breathtaking landscapes around. The trail taken by the first Kilimanjaro explorers, Marangu is home to black-and-white colobuses living in the branches of tropical trees growing along the trail. A one-day Kilimanjaro trip leads you up to Mandara Hut and back to the entry gate.

This non-technical Kilimanjaro camping route is the only one to start from the Northern side of the mountain. Rongai approaches the main Kilimanjaro (Kibo) cone from the Northeast which usually is drier (helping avoid rainfall) and descends via the Marangu route on the Southeast. Though we consider this less physically demanding than other routes (no scrambling sections as you get on the southern circuit routes), short treks do not offer acclimatization opportunities and the easier walk may catch up with you at the higher altitudes, however more days spent on the Mountain increase your chance to summit.

This classic route up Kilimanjaro is also known also as the “Coca-Cola” route. It mimics the original path Hans Meyer trekked to become the first European to summit Mount Kilimanjaro. On the 8 day Lemosho route, the trek from Barranco to Barafu is broken up into two days, allowing for a short day just prior to the summit attempt. This is important because summit day begins very early, around midnight, so climbers are sleep deprived going into the toughest day on the mountain. The Lemosho route approaches Kilimanjaro through forest and moorland from the west, crossing the caldera of Shira volcano and exploring the rock formations of the plateau, before traversing beneath the Southern ice fields of Kibo. We make our final ascent by the Barafu route. There are often stunning views of Kibo in the sharp light of morning and early evening.Lemosho Route believed to have 96% summit success rate. This is a very special tour that concentrates in the Serengeti, to follow the Great Migration. You will spend at least 4 nights in the park, usually two in the Central Area (largest concentration of big cats) and two where the Migration is according to the time of the year. We have designed this particular tour so that you finish the safari in the most remote location in the Serengeti, and then fly from there to your next destination. But we can redesign it to return to Arusha by land.

Bike trek is one of our product of trekking the Kilimanjaro Mountain and the Kilema route is the only route that makes it possible to reach the top of the Mount Kilimanjaro by a mountain bike. With our experienced guides the whole trip to summit Mt Kilimanjaro 5895M, took 5 or 6 days with proper acclimatization. This activity provides physical exercise and recreational use of the natural environment with minimum impact while enhancing visitors’ experience. Summit bound visitors will use the Kilema route (19km) and cyclists will meet their porters at Horombo Hut and continue to the summit. For non-summit bound visitors, cycling starts from Londorosi gate or from Moramu Picnic Site then back to Moramu (44km ride).

The Rongai route is the only route that approaches Kilimanjaro from the north, close to the Kenyan border. Though gaining popularity amongst climbers, Rongai has low traffic. It is the preferred route for those looking for an alternative to the crowded Marangu & Machame route, for those who would like a more remote hike, and for those who are climbing during the rainy season as the north side receives less precipitation.

The Lemosho Route is often considered the most beautiful of all the trekking trails up Mount Kilimanjaro. It crosses the entire Shira Plateau from west to east in a pleasant, relatively flat hike. Crowds are low until the route joins the Machame route near Lava Tower. You get an extra day to acclimatize on Mount Kilimanjaro if you choose the 8-day Lemosho route plan. The Londorossi gate serves as the starting point for this 8-day Mount Kilimanjaro package for hiking the mountain through the Lemosho Route. The Mweka Route is used for the descent. You will be picked up from airport. From there you will go to the hotel in Moshi for an orientation on your trek. Your guides will be there to provide you with details on your trek and will also check your trekking gears.

The longest and the newest route on Mount Kilimanjaro, Northern circuit is known for excellent acclimatization and breathtaking views of the Kilimanjaro northern slopes. For the present moment a very limited number of travelers have set foot on this trail, and the route is hardly ever crowded. It is recommended to those who enjoy long trekking experiences in remote wilderness with a minimal number of other trekkers around. It takes at least eight days to climb Kilimanjaro through Northern Circuit which is why the route boasts very high summit success rate. 9-day extended version with crater camping is also available.
