Opened in 2005, the "Libearty" bear sanctuary is the largest animal welfare project in Europe, a corner of heaven for mistreated bears. The bears at the sanctuary have been rescued from a cruel and abusive life in captivity, with each bear having an impressive story. "Libearty" is currently home to over 130 bears, it is recognized as the most ethical sanctuary in the world, spread over 70 hectares of oak forest with trees where bears climb, with pools where bears swim , with adequate food according to veterinarians' diets.

Although this is not the Castle of Dracula, it is a historical monument that stands out for its antiquity, its Gothic architecture, its location on a natural rock of more than 60 meters and its history. Apart from visiting the castle we will know the history of one of the most interesting historical figures of the fifteenth century: Vlad Dracul, the historical character on which the Irish writer Bram Stoker was based to write his famous novel Dracula.

We meet in Brasov's old town , will jump on your AC coach and head South to Azuga. Along the way you can admire the beautiful nature , Carpathian mountains raising high in front of us . The Quaternary basaltic eruptions from Persani Mountains area represent the last manifestations of volcanism in the Carpathian Mountains and form the "Basalt Triangle" (Racos - Rupea - Comana de Sus). The volcanic eruptions took place between 2 - 0.5 million years ago and the most important basalt outcrops are protected nowadays by the following geo-sites of national importance: Racos Geological Complex and Rupea Basaltic cliff. Today the Racos Geological Complex preserves the Quaternary basaltic volcanic eruptions from approximately 1.3 - 1.5 millions years ago that are visible today in the three quarries. Visit Brazi Basalt Quarrie where Brazi Lake started to form after the mining activities stopped, called by the locals the Emerald Lake. Continue to the Bazalt Columns Natural Monument. The basalt mining stopped in the 1960s, when the site was declared a natural monument.

On this tour we will discover two of the most authentic places in Transylvania: the Fortified Church of Viscri and the medieval center of Sighisoara, both World Heritage Sites of Unesco. Sighisoara keeps its medieval center in perfect condition and walking through its cobbled streets we will discover beautiful spots.

Wander on a light cycling tour near Brasov all the way to the Orthodox Monastery in Cristian village and then through the Secular oak forest, enjoying a well-deserved traditional lunch made by the people in the village. ( lunch not included ) Detailed itinerary: The meeting point is at our office in Brasov, where we will get the bikes from. After getting familiarized with them, we will start cycling to Cristian village. On the way to the village, we will visit the "Sfantu Efrem cel Nou" Monastery and represents a building that citizens of Cristian are very fond of. Afterward, we will continue our journey through the secular oak forest which is declared to be a natural monument and is protected by law. The last stop on our way back to Brasov is at a well-known traditional cuisine restaurant in Cristian, where we will be served local goodies and enjoy the sunshine on the terrace.
