This trail takes you into the home of the rare bird species-the Uluguru Bush-shirkers and Africa violet (saintpaulia species.). From Tegetero Mission you can walk or drive to kinole village. The road from Tegetero to kinole is only for experienced off-road drivers and 4-WD vehicles.

Mkomazi is vital refuge for two highly endangered species, the charismatic black rhino and sociable African wild dog, both of which were successfully reintroduced in the 1990s.
