The village is surrounded by beautiful tropical rainforests giving you a scenic view of the city. The pool at the bottom of the waterfall is a good place for a refreshing swim after the hike but it depends on the weather. The tour begins with a two-hour canoe trip around Lake Duluti. Guests will enjoy views of Mounts Meru and Kilimanjaro when on the water (weather permitting) and learn about the flora and fauna found at the lake as well as the surrounding forest. We will then cycle from the lake to Mangalia Waterfalls (3-5 hours total) where they can enjoy a refreshing swim in the cool mountain water. Along the way we pass through coffee farms and visit a small home-brewery where traditional banana beer is prepared. This experience of Tanzanian life and culture ends with lunch at a small restaurant where we have a typical local meal.

You certainly can’t climb Kilimanjaro in a day, but our day tour to this iconic, snow-capped mountain will give you an excellent taster of why Africa’s highest peak is so popular. During the course of the day, we will follow the popular Marangu Route and walk as far as the first hut – the Mandara – where our picnic lunch will be taken.
