Departing from Antigua, visit Lake Atitlan and its surrounding villages, a winning combination of scenic beauty and a relaxed atmosphere, immersed in Mayan culture. On this full day we will also visit Santiago Atitlan, a small town on the south side of Lake Atitlan, famous for a shrine to Maximón and Textiles.

This is a beginner to intermediate mountain bike ride combined with a very unique experience to visit a local Guatemalan family. These families are members a local coffee farming co-op and you will learn first hand how they work among the coffee co-op on a daily basis. We will take a private tour with one of the co-op farmers to their field and then go to their house to see how they toast the coffee on a small batch at a time level. Finally we will have lunch with the family before riding back to Antigua.

This is a shared tourist shuttle that transports travelers between Antigua and Lanquin (the main town near Semuc Champey National Park). The ride is approximately 8 hours without any traffic, but we will stop one or two times for snacks and a restroom break. In Antigua, we'll collect you at your central hotel. In Lanquin, all the shared shuttles arrive and depart from the gasolinera Exon in Lanquin. Your hotel can help arrange for you to get to and from the bus stop.

This full day tour takes you high into the mountains above Lake Atitlan on a strenuous hike ending in Solola. Explore the village of Santa Cruz la Laguna and visit the indigenous market in Solola. Hike through maize fields, coffee fields, old growth forest, and into the cloud forest. Visit a sacred Mayan site with the change to see Shaman performing Fire Ceremony. Hike ends in Solola with time to explore the market, then transfer to Panajachel and back to Antigua. Very strenuous hike.

On the day of your photoshoot, we'll meet up and tour Antigua's locations to serve as the backdrop for your personal portraiture photoshoot. **Please be aware that access to photograph inside the ruins requires a municipal permit. Our group meets at Old Town Outfitters Shop in Antigua at 14:00hrs – where drinking water, bathroom facilities and retail outdoor equipment are available for hikers. Our drive to the trailhead is just over 1-hour in private transport from Antigua to the Park Office. As our group moves up one of the myriad of trails on the mountain, your Old Town guide will direct the group toward active surface or sub-surface lava flows near the summit. He will then decide where to make camp for the evening, and arrange the group’s campsite close to one of Pacaya’s many beautiful vistas. A freshly prepared dinner will be readied for the group. Hot coffee and tea will keep your group warm after sundown, and after a good night’s rest in tents and bags views of surrounding highland volcanoes Agua, Fuego and Acatenango will greet campers at first light. After breakfast our group will break camp and have a relaxed descent of Pacaya’s slopes as we move down to the trailhead.
