The first stop is a town called San Juan del Obispo, (at the foot of the Agua volcano). In San Juan, we visit a popular chocolate factory, where we will learn about the process of making chocolate (with tasting); We visit the main square of the town, (beautiful view of Antigua). We will visit the El Hato mountain, (north side of the valley); one of the best known sites in "Antigua". At the ̈Cruz ̈ we get a view of Antigua and the wonderful architecture of the city and the Volcanoes. We leave our ATVs parked and head to "Hobbitenango" in a van for sightseeing, great views, and various activities in this enchanted little forest. Our last stop is for lunch at a hidden mountain spot called "Earth Lodge", an avocado plantation with a restaurant and cabins and tree houses serving more casual fare like sandwiches, salads, and burgers to go with some fresh smoothies.

We will shuttle 30 minutes outside Antigua through the town of Parramos and the small village of Chirijuyu to meet our trailhead. From there we begin an introductory climb followed by a 3km jeep track descent through coffee and avocado plantations. We will ride smooth trails through agricultural operations and then cross the rustic town of San Andres Itzapa. From there we will start our second climb (4km) up through the town on paved and cobble stoned roads before entering a pine forest at 1900m (6,400ft). Crossing a small ravine will bring us to a smooth descent and fast singletrack through pine trees. This will exit into the plains of Parramos crossing fields of corn, fruit, beans and greenhouses as you wind along agricultural singletrack. The final descent follows 500+ year old trails that have been eroded into tunnels of tight twisty fun. Exit in the town of Pastores and cycle the gradual paved downhill back to Antigua!

This is one of two tours we offer made specially for our guests who dont want to drive our ATVS. This tour is done on our 6 passenger UTVs driven by our guides so the guests can enjoy in comfort, take pictures and enjoy the ride without worrying about the driving. In this tour we visit various of the surroundings of Antigua. We start off by visiting the first capital of Guatemala where we visit the central plaza and local market of the city.The next stop is the town of San Pedro de Las Huertas where we visit the plaza and a local JADE shop. The third stop of this adventure is San Juan del Obispo,this village is located in the skirts of the Agua Volcano, here we visit the local chocolate factory and local wine store where the wine is made from a local fruit called NISPERO. Our final stop is El Cerro de San Cristobal El Alto, this village has the BEST birds eye view of the city located nearly at the center of the valley.

Traversing our way across the lower sections of Volcan de Agua will give you great views back to Antigua and the rest of the valley. We then make our way to the downhill section that brings up back to civilization, popping back out in San Pedro las Huertas. From San Pedro we’ll cruise all the way back to Antigua. We will leave around 6 a.m. from your hotel in La Antigua Guatemala and drive 3 hours to Chichicastenango.  If you don´t have breakfast included in your hotel we will stop to eat on the way (not included).  At our arrival we will walk around the market where we will see how local vendors sales their agriculture products (lots of colors, people and opportunities for great pictures here).  After that we will visit the local church where we will see people performing ceremonies inside the catholic church. Inside this church the original copy of the famous book Popol Vuh was found.  We will learn about local traditions and mayan history.  We will have time to shop around the market for people that wants to leave the market with a souvenir and before we leave back to Antigua we will have lunch at Hotel Santo Tomas (not included).  This lunch is very special because it will give you an opportunity to try several plates from all over Guatemala.
