This is a private tour with a 7-seater van for a maximum 6 guests. Elafonisi island and its beach are located in the southwestern tip of Crete, about 2 hours drive from Chania. It is regarded one of the best beaches in the world. This island is connected with Crete with a narrow and shallow strip of sand, forming with its long peninsula, exotic beaches with white sand and turquoise water. A shallow lagoon is formed, and you can walk to Elafonisi island and explore its beaches. The road to get there goes through breathtaking Topolia Gorge, picturesque villages and the fascinating varied landscapes. The aim of this tour is not only to visit a beach, but the trip to get there is an experience itself. We will park 1/4 of mile (1/2km) away and have to hike on a dirt path to the beach. On the way back we will make a stop for lunch. Optional visit to a Winery, Olive Oil Factory for Tasting Tour or Monastery upon request.

On this excursion from Rethymno you’ll marvel at natural wonders throughout the day, from the White Mountains to thousand-year-old forests and more. Your escort will be there to explain all the necessary information about your hike and provide you the tickets for the entrance and ferry boat. Through a beautiful route among small traditional mountainous villages you reach Xyloskalo in the plateau of Omalos, the northern entrance of the gorge at an altitude of 1,250 m.
