The Phoenix/Tucson Box Canyon Tour is in Florence, AZ, halfway between Tucson and Phoenix on State Route 79. Driving time from either city is approximately 1.5 hours from either City . Our trail is about 34 miles in length and 3.25 hours in duration. Elevation gain and descent is over 1500 vertical feet as we climb up and over the front range of the Pinal Mountains. Along the tour your guide will point out Indian petroglyphs left over from the ancient Native Americans. Another viewpoint is an old adobe building that served as a way station for the Butterfield Overland Stage Coach Company during the 1860’s Express on what was know as the “Butterfield The real highlight of the tour is Box Canyon. The middle 3 miles is slot canyon with walls that are about 1500 feet high on both sides and only about 15-20 feet apart in some places. This tour departs the Deer Valley airport in Phoenix. My Arizona Guide will whisk you away to Northern Arizona and The Grand Canyon. We will drive through Flagstaff and onto the Grand Canyon where we will have a few hours to take it all in before returning to your hotel. Begin your air tour with a one hour flight from Phoenix to the Grand Canyon. Continuing right over the Rim, you begin the scenic overflight of the Grand Canyon’s widest and deepest point, on a route that only a few are allowed to fly. This 20-30 minute overflight of one of nature’s most spectacular sights will give you a view of the Grand Canyon seen by only a handful of people as you fly 1,000 feet above the south rim and about equal to the north rim. After completing the overflight of the Grand Canyon, enjoy a short, one hour flight back to Phoenix by a more direct route.

Escape the daytime desert heatwaves with this unique hiking adventure in the Sonoran Desert. The Monument Valley tour includes Sedona, Meteor Crater, and Monument Valley. It begins with a scenic, narrated, flight through the Red Rock formations of Sedona. It then takes in the San Francisco Peaks and the Painted Desert. The tour continues and may make a brief stop in Page, Arizona, located along the shores of Lake Powell (depending on aircraft). The flight will continue on to Monument Valley where you will experience the monuments from the air. The flight will land at Gouldings Field, just minutes from Monument Valley, and embark on a guided, 90 minute 4X4 ground tour into the Navajo Tribal Park. Your Navajo guide will provide insights into the culture and beauty of this sacred area. Finally, return to Gouldings Lodge for a delicious Navajo Taco lunch before returning to the airport for the scenic return flight.

This day tour gives you the chance to venture north from the Phoenix area to see several historical sites that visitors come from around the world to see. This allows you to experience several interesting locations that are so important in the history of Arizona. Our first stop will be at Walnut Canyon National Monument where you will have a chance to learn more about the area in the visitor center and also walk the upper trail that takes you right to many ancient dwellings right on the trail. Then off to the Meteor Crater which is such a unique experience to see and be able to walk right out and stand on the edge. Then we are off to Winslow for lunch & a visit to the famous corner made famous in an Eagles song ("Take It Easy"). While in Winslow we will visit the Historic La Posada Hotel for a great lunch (included up to $20 per person). On our return to Phoenix, we will go thru Sunset Pass & our ponderosa forest.
