This tour is focusing on the natural beauty and not so much the terrain - although the path is still a fun dirt trail. Beautiful views of Canyons, great for photographers and families of all ages! You'll see ancient Indian petroglyph (carving) panels, a couple of Arches, red rock spires and towering canyon walls all along the beautiful Colorado River. We will make a few short stops to snack, take pictures, and talk about the Moab history. Water & Snacks are provided This tour can accommodate up to 13 passengers. Groups with 1-3 passengers will be in a smaller, private vehicle that is open air. All ages welcome 0-100! Choose from 2 trails, please call if you have a preference. Our Full and Multi-day trips are full on adventures into some of the epicenters of canyoneering such as the San Rafael Swell, Robber's Roost, North Wash and Cedar Mesa- exploring canyons where solitude is near certain and amazement is guaranteed. With all tours being private, we are able to accommodate novices and experts alike. These are trips suited for all fitness/ age levels with a willingness to expand their comfort zones to have the experience of a lifetime.

You'll see all the best hiking trails, popular geographic formations, and enjoy the freedom of flight with a highly experienced pilot. Arches National Park is a place of geological wonders. With over 2,000 recorded rock formations and arches, this national park offers some of the best views and opportunities to capture breathtaking photography.

We will visit at least four locations for photography in iconic Arches National Park for the afternoon golden hour and sunset. I have traveled extensively in search of amazing photographic locations, and it is hard to beat Arches National Park for the wide variety of photographic locations, and it is an official international Dark Skies park. During the busy season, I will lead the tour to locations that are less well known but still spectacular. I will show you great locations, and make suggestions on composition and subject matter. I can even help you with your camera settings if you are a beginner. After sunset. we will take a brief break for a picnic and go over camera settings for night photography while we wait for the Milky Way to emerge. (Note: in April & May, the Milky Way does not appear until after midnight, so we will return to Moab after sunset, and head back out late at night. A wee hours tour is available as a standalone tour during this time).

Castle Valley is the poster child for Western landscapes, and you’ve probably already seen it somewhere in a western, TV show, or a commercial or two. And if somehow you have, in fact, never laid eyes on Castle Valley before, you’re not going forget it once you do! This serene section of the Colorado River moseys through a big beautiful valley lined with monuments, before cutting through a towering red rock canyon that meanders back toward Moab. Along the way are some of Utah’s most impressive geologic features like Fisher Towers, Castleton Tower, the Priest and Nuns, and so on. As for the waters here along the Colorado River, it stays pretty warm from late spring to early fall. You’ll spend most of your time floating, with a few Class II rapids to cool you off along the way. Expect river games and stories, splash fights, and lots of fun interpretations from your guides on this mild trip!

Situated at around 6,000 feet in elevation and just 45 minutes from Moab, Dead Horse Point offers a thrilling ride along moderate to intermediate single-track trails. These trails feature rolling terrain and breathtaking overlooks of the Colorado River and Canyonlands National Park. This adventure is ideal for riders with some prior mountain biking experience. Desert Highlights is Moab's original canyoneering guide service. This half day canyoneering tour visits a route that Desert Highlights' founder created as a technical guided canyoneering route in the late 1990's. Here, we explore an area that most people would not visit on their own. With the use of ropes and other technical gear, a competent guide and a sense of adventure, we are able to explore areas that are otherwise inaccessible. The Moab desert is our home and we are passionate about sharing it with others. During your guided tour, you will not only safely descend a beautiful, water-carved canyon, but you will learn about the flora and fauna, geology and history of the area that we are so lucky to call our backyard.

The Fisher Towers section of the Colorado River is HEAVY ON SCENERY, WITH SOME FUN SMALL RAPIDS, depending on the water level and time of year. This is an area where many motion pictures and commercials have been filmed over the years. John Wayne and John Ford filmed a lot of old westerns in this area. Recently filmed in this area was The Lone Ranger with Johnny Depp and Armie Hammer in 2013. More recently, HBO's Westworld, season 1, which premiered in 2016.
