We begin this wildlife photo tour by heading north along the western boundary of the National Elk Refuge to Grand Teton National Park. Here we will travel along the southern park roads watching for wildlife and stopping frequently for photo-ops. Wildlife we frequently encounter on this trip includes bison, elk, deer, moose, pronghorn, (aka antelope), fox, coyote, bear, bald eagle, trumpeter swans, and if we’re lucky, wolves. If time allows we might choose to stop at the Jackson Visitor Center or the new Moose visitor center in Grand Teton National Park. The guides at Jackson Hole Wildlife Safaris will make every effort to showcase as many highlights as possible, and will structure the day around making your experience a memorable one. They will take current road conditions, weather, seasonality, and your personal interests into consideration as they move through the park.

You’ll experience beautiful mountain trails on horseback, winding through Douglas Firs, Lodge Pole Pine trees, Blue Sagebrush and Alpine Wildflowers. Riding along (and sometimes through) the crystal clear water flowing down Willow Creek toward the famous Snake River is sure to become a highlight from your visit to Jackson Hole. Wildlife encounters are frequent and you ride through the natural habitat of the Rocky Mountain Elk, Mule Deer, Shiras Moose, Red Tailed Hawks and even our American Bald Eagle!

Thousands of mule deer, elk, moose, big horn sheep and bison migrate into the valley in search of food each year along with coyotes, fox, bald and golden eagles, swans, and even packs of wolves. This gathering of wintering wildlife makes winter one of the best times to view wildlife in Jackson Hole! After a full morning in the field we will enjoy lunch together at a local eatery before heading back out for the afternoon. When available, we will take a horse drawn sleigh through the National Elk Refuge into the middle of the largest wild elk herd in North America. Following the sleigh ride, we will head back into the field to spot more wildlife. **Sleigh rides are optional.

The Grand Teton Sunrise Tour highlights the golden mornings of this park. This four hour interpretive  tour will focus on the varied wintering wildlife found in and around Grand Teton National Park and the National Elk Refuge.  We will have the opportunity to view Moose, Bison, Elk, Deer, Big Horn Sheep, Big Horn Sheep, Bald Eagle and more in their natural habitat.  In addition to the fantastic wildlife to be encountered, the beauty of the Grand Teton Mountain range will also be a highlight of the trip.  Small group size will ensure a personalized tour and exceptional customer service.  With a start time at 8:30am or 1:30 pm you will have time to plan other activities in the day.

Your Naturalist guide will focus on searching for wildlife in their wintertime habitats. You'll explore Grand Teton National Park and the National Elk Refuge to look for elk, moose, bison, bighorn sheep, coyotes, deer, foxes, waterfowl, bald eagles, and possibly a wolf. We use a hightop van with plenty of room and window seats. Your guide will stop for plenty of photo ops. Along the way, you will hear about the ecology and history of this region.

Spend the day wading through the waters of Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Our Walk Wade trips are a great option for beginners, intermediate and expert anglers. Spend the day in an intimate river setting with the chance at a trout you may never forget!

We start our climb up to Ann’s Pond where we can often see moose having a drink, then we climb up to Ann’s Ridge where we have lunch (included), stretch your legs and take in the spectacular 360 lookout, including breathtaking views of the majestic Grand Teton mountains. We continue our return on Ann’s Ridge Loop and down the historic Bryan’s Flat logging road back to Willow Creek headquarters. This trailride takes place 100% in the Bridger Teton National Forest and makes a full loop, allowing you to experience new scenery and views throughout the entire ride.
