Rongai Route is the only route that approaches Kilimanjaro from the north, starting near the Kenyan border. This northern approach offers a unique perspective on the mountain and is less frequented compared to southern routes. The route has a more gradual ascent compared to some of the steeper routes like Umbwe. This gentler gradient can make the trek more manageable for those who are less experienced. Due to its less popular starting point, the Rongai Route is generally less crowded than routes like Marangu or Machame. This can result in a more peaceful and serene trekking experience. The Rongai Route typically takes 6 to 7 days to complete, allowing for better acclimatization compared to shorter routes. This helps in reducing the risk of altitude sickness. The Rongai Route typically ascends to the summit via the Kibo Crater, and then descends via the Marangu Route, providing trekkers with a different summit experience compared to routes .

This is a very special tour that allows you to concentrate most of your time in the Serengeti, to follow the unique spectacle that is the Great Migration.
