Local distilleries close to our vicinity in the Highlands of Scotland include Dalmore, Glenmorangie, Tomatin, Singleton (previously Glen Ord), Balblair, Teaninich and Clynelish. Day tours can be arranged by you and your group to any distillery of your choice. If you wish to visit more than one location, no problem. Feel free to ask. Should you wish to organise your own custom Whisky tour or adjust timings or duration, then prices and pickup points can be discussed with Aleman Ali. Any entry fees for distilleries and additional costs for venues, places of interest or historic sites are NOT included in the price of our tours. Meals are also NOT included in the price.

This tour visits many of the actual locations mentioned in the Outlander Novel/TV series. Whilst much of the filming took place in the South of Scotland the true location of the Jacobite Strongholds are to be found in the Highlands.Like all my tours this will be a laid back and relaxed day and flexible in every respect. The tours are conducted in a luxury van type vehicle which has excellent head and leg room and adult sized seats for all occupants. Complimentary water is carried in the vehicle and WiFi is also available wherever reception allows. Lunch stops are at your own discretion however the driver will be able to find you somewhere nice to eat as you require.

We enjoy lovely views of the Beauly Firth as we head to Beauly Priory. Originally built in the 13th century by monks from Dijon, France, much of the main structure remains. From here we'll head over the hill to Loch Ness and Urquhart Castle. You’ll have plenty of time to enjoy exploring this fascinating landmark whilst admiring the unrivalled views of Loch Ness. We then pass through Old Inverness, stopping to enjoy the river and more, before heading for Cawdor Castle & Gardens and the 4000 year old Clava Cairns. Our final destination is Culloden Battlefield, site of the last ever battle fought on British soil and where the 1745 Jacobite Rebellion came to its tragic end. We'll head south from Inverness over The Slochd Summit from where we see our first view of The Cairngorm Mountains. We continue on to the Highland Folk Museum, Newtonmore where you can discover the history and heritage of The Scottish Highlands. From here we will enjoy a lovely tour along the quieter back roads of Badenoch & Strathspey. We'll visit Ruthven Barracks before passing through Rothiemurchus and Loch Morlich. Our journey then takes us up to Cairngorm ski area and UK’s highest mountain railway. Experience Cairngorm Mountain and enjoy wonderful panoramic views from UK’s highest restaurant, over 1000 metres up. Back down in Strathspey we can go looking for red squirrels and perhaps Ospreys amid our indigenous Caledonian Pine Forest by Loch Garten and Nethy Bridge. Our tour takes us on to Grantown-on-Spey and, if time allows, we can enjoy an envigorating dram or two on our way home at either Tomatin or the new Cairn Distillery.

We’ll explore the impact of the Picts on this majestic landscape. Known as ‘Picti’ by the Romans, meaning ‘Painted Ones’ in Latin, these northern tribes constituted the largest kingdom in Dark Age Scotland. 13th century Fortrose Cathedral with a brief stop at Chanonry Point to see if we can spot any dolphins. Then on to Groam House Museum to learn about their collection of carved Pictish stones from the 8th century AD. On to Cromarty. An enchanting wee town, perfect for a brief wander and a coffee before boarding the ferry and off to explore the Pictish sites and stones at Nigg, Shandwick and Hilton of Cadboll. Look at for random mermaids!! There’s a great lunch opportunity here before continuing on our journey to meet a Pictish Queen at The Tarbat Discovery Centre, Portmahomack, the epi-centre of the 8th century Pictish monastic estate. We can take a quick diversion out to see Tarbat Ness lighthouse before taking in our final Pictish stone of the day, the Edderton Cross Slab.
