After this climb, time to admire the view from the Pico das Caldeirinhas and Pico Vermelho volcanic caldera. The last part of the trail passes along a dry stone wall in an area dominated by Azorean heather, an endemic floral specie. After lunch, time to get amazed with Algar do Carvão, a volcanic chimney that is, without doubt, the best known volcanic cave in the Azores.
