However, the mine started to grow deeper since the end of the 12 century. Its nine levels go down to 327 meters (357 yards) and the total length of corridors exceeds 3 km (1.86 miles). Salt Mine Wieliczka was listed on the first UNESCO World Heritage List. Wieliczka Salt Mine is one of the largest and oldest salt mines in the world.
