07:00 AM We leave the city of Cusco for Chincheros, a picturesque town known for its impressive colonial church and agricultural terraces, where you can learn the art of traditional fabric. Then, we head to the Salineras de Maras, a unique landscape of thousands of small salt pools used since pre-Inca times. Later, we explored Moray, an archaeological complex of circular terraces that are believed to have functioned as an agricultural research center to experiment with different microclimates. After a delicious lunch in Urubamba (Tunupa Restaurant), the heart of the Sacred Valley, we visited Ollantaytambo, an impressive Inca fortress, famous for its huge terraces and history as one of the last bastions of resistance. This tour begins with an early 6:00 am pickup from your hotel, followed by a short drive to El Balcón del Diablo, one of the best birding spots near the city. Located next to the Sacsayhuamán archaeological site, this natural area is just 20 minutes from Cusco, making it ideal for a rewarding birdwatching experience in a short amount of time.
