A dam at the river's northern terminus, just before it meets the Atlantic Ocean, forms Gatun Lake, which makes up the main body of the Panama Canal. This Experience takes place in a Special Tropical Home private residence in the former Canal Zone. The home, former US Air Force Officer’s housing, is over 80 years old and thoroughly remodeled. We will have a delicious breakfast made by a cook from the interior of Panama in a large screen room with views of the garden.
While we are eating breakfast and sipping on our smoothies, we will watch a variety of tropical birds come in to the bird structures set up for this purpose. Some of the birds are quite large, some are quite small, some are quite pretty, and some are quite noisy!!
