Dhorpatan Trek which leads to only Hunting Reserve of Nepal; Dhorpatan Hunting Reserve is only 15 days away from the capital city of Nepal, Kathmandu. It is also one of the few hunting reserves of the world. Established in 1987 it adjoins Baglung, Rukum and Myagdi with an area of 1325 square km. Passing through rhododendron and oak forest you will have magnificent views of Dhaulagiri, Gurja Himal, Churen Himal and Putha Hiunchuli. Enjoy a hike up to Namo Buddha, a beautiful point situated at an elevation of 5,740 feet (1,750 meters) in the Kavre district. It is a very important Buddhist pilgrimage site which lies about 23 miles (38 kilometers) east of Kathmandu. The stupa and shrines built in this lovely little hill mark a very ancient holy site which signifies the place where a legendary prince named Mahasattva offered himself to a starving tigress with several underfed cubs. This legendary episode is depicted in a very nice stone slab which is right next to a holy stupa.

Namobuddha (or Namura) is for Tibetans one of the three holiest pilgrimage sites south of the Himalaya. Legends say a young prince, Mahasattva (reincarnation of Buddha himself) while walking in a forest with his brothers saw a tigress with 5 cubs she had just given birth to. The tigress was so hungry that she could barely move. Overcome with compassion, he began to feed the tigress and her cubs by cutting his flesh. Later when other brothers came searching for him, found only his bones and hairs. A stupa was built on top of these remains, now known as Namobuddha.

Trek over Gosainkunda back to Kathmandu instead of driving. Gosainkund is a beautiful blue high-altitude lake. It is preferable to trek to Gosainkunda on the return from Langtang rather than on the way, as it requires a fairly steep ascent, and by this point you will be better acclimatized, making the height of the lake (4,380 m.) less of a concern. (If trekking this route without a guide, be especially careful with the altitude—numerous people have been caught out by a dangerous error in a commonly available trekking map that incorrectly lists some altitudes. Accommodation & meals The Langtang Valley had been very well set-up with plenty of comfortable lodges. The standard here is good, with warm blankets, fireplaces, comfortable beds, the occasional hot shower (for an extra fee) and a variety of food. Don’t forget to try the momos in this region, as they are larger and more pastry-like than those commonly found in the capital.

Pashupatinath One of the holiest Hindu temple situated 5 Kilometers east of Kathmandu city on the bank of the sacred Bagmati River. Pashupatinath is the center of annual pilgrimage on the day of Shivaratri which falls in the month of February / March. Behind the temples are the cremation grounds.

It is about 4 hours walk to Changunarayan Temple passing through the local villages and little hills. It is a beautiful walk descending via Telkot. We can take short break for tea and at the Changunarayan we can have lunch. After lunch, we can do some sightseeing before we drive to Bhaktapur and further to Kathmandu.
