Cetinje is the old Kingdom of Montenegro. It was founded in the 15th century and became the center of Montenegrin life and its culture. Today it is a city museum with beautiful monuments, promenades and nature under the huge mountain Lovćen. Cetinje is the former capital of Montenegro. During King Nikola, numerous embassies of different countries were built in this city, giving the city a specific appearance. The most important monument of the town is Cetinje Monastery built in 1701 - dedicated to the birth of the Virgin. Lovćen is the symbol of Montenegro and its freedom . The mountain is located at 1749 m above sea level, and in 1952, it was declared a national park. Saint Andrija is a fortress placed high above Boka Bay , offering great views of Boka bay. The hike starts from the village in Risan with a gradual hike up to an old Austro-Hungarian road dating from the end of 19th century. The path weaves through small forests, past old villages, ruins . The path to the fortress was originally designed for horses and offers picturesque views along the way. The path winds through the beautiful beech forest where the only sounds you hear are the chirping birds and buzzing insects. As you approach the top, the path opens up to a panoramic view of the bay where the fortress majestically overlooks. The view from the Sveti Andrija fortress is described as breathtaking (and it is) and includes the enchanting Bay of Kotor, Mount Vrmac, and the Verige Strait.
