Karen Blixen Museum, the Museum belongs to a different time period in the history of Kenya. The farm that the Danish author of the famed memoir Out of Africa lived on from 1917 to 1931 is now a museum. The Giraffe Centre in Nairobi is an amazing place to visit. It started as a rehabilitation project to rescue the Rothschild Giraffe. There were only 120 giraffes left in a ranch in Western Kenya when the Giraffe Center was founded. Bomas of Kenya is a tourist village in Langata, Nairobi. Bomas (homesteads) displays traditional villages belonging to the several Kenyan tribes. On this tour we get to board a matatu our destination being the house where we cook from. The matatus are known for colorful and elaborate decorations, blaring music, playstation consoles, a DJ on-board, energetic conductors and their aggressive driving. At the house, we cook with you the popular foods in Kenyan homes. We later eat together with the present members of the family. We pack some food for you to eat later.

Kenya has one of the richest avifaunas in Africa with around 1090 bird species recorded. At least eight of these are national endemics. Around 170 species of Kenya’s birds species are Pale arctic migrants (11 species of them with a local breeding population too), mainly from Eastern Europe, Russia, the Middle East and Siberia. Another 60 species migrate regularly within the Afro tropics or from Madagascar. Some 335 species are found in forest; 230 species are entirely forest dependent and 110 species are “forest specialists” requiring intact, undisturbed habitat and forty species of global conservation concern are known to occur in Kenya. Four of these are critically endangered, two Endangered and 16 species are Vulnerable.
