Lake Mývatn & Goðafoss Waterfall shore excursion from Akureyri Port is a tour specially designed with the needs of Cruise Ship passengers in mind. We explore the popular area in a small group and we have added a special lunch stop at the Bird Museum in Lake Mývatn. There we will have an exclusive visit away from the crowds. Admission to the museum and a light lunch is included in the stop. We adjust the departure time and length so it will fit the docking time of each cruise ship at Akureyri Port. The return time is always 1 hour before ship’s departure.

Have you ever dreamed to spend a unforgettable moment with huskies surrounded by incredible nature? On this hike, we take some dogs for a walk (or he takes you?) in the countryside, by the sea, surrounded by mountains view, up into our local forest. (We won´t see polar bears but we might see horses and sheeps.) After the walk, we will spend the second part of the visit with all the dogs at home, where you can take pictures, cuddle with the dogs and talk more about all the things the dogs do all year around.

Whale Watching tour from Akureyri Port is an exciting and family friendly adventure from cruise ship port. We offer door to door pickup from cruise to the whale watching harbor at Hauganes Village. The transfer has free wifi and is in a comfortable bus or minibus, depending on number of passengers booked. The Whale watching company is with a family company located in Hauganes, the first whale watching company in Iceland, and still operated by the founders. After pick up,the first stop of the day is at Goðafoss than its on to Dimmuborgir at Lake Mývatn, Námaskarð after exploring Lake Myvatn. Dettifoss is the next place on the agenda followed by Selfoss and Hafragilsfoss after the waterfalls we wisit Hlóðaklettar, Ásbyrgi, Tjörnes peninsula (home of the puffin), from Húsavík its direction Akureyri. Whale Watching Hauganes is the oldest whale watching tour operator in Iceland. We operate two classic Icelandic oak boats that are both spacious and extremely stable here in the still fjord of Eyjafjörður which is well sheltered from the open North Atlantic Ocean. We classify our tours as "slow travel" as you will get the chance of enjoying the beautiful landscape of the fjord along with its wildlife while not feeling in a rush or that you are interrupting the wildlife in any way. Our tours are carbon neutral as we plant one tree for each tour along with blending the oil with bio-diesel made in Akureyri (the capital of North Iceland, just 25 minutes south from us) from frying oils from local restaurants. You will find a restaurant here as well, a campsite, hot tubs down by the black beach of Sandvik and the famous beer-spa here just 5 minutes north from us. A scenic and memorable excursion in Iceland to the majestic Godafoss Waterfall. Godafoss is one of the most spectacular and historic waterfalls in Iceland. The name means the "waterfall of the gods". The waterfall is about 12 meters high (36 feet) and 30 meters wide (90 feet), and it forms a horseshoe shape that creates a stunning spectacle of water and mist. You will have about 45 minutes to explore the waterfall and take photos of this natural wonder. After admiring the waterfall, you will board the bus again and head back to Akureyri but not exactly the same way. You will drive through the beautiful Fnjoskadalur Valley, up to the mountains and down to the Eyjafordur Bay with astonishing view. The Eyjafjordur Bay is the longest in Iceland, and surrounded by snow-capped mountains. Before you arrive to Akureyri the bus will stop at the Akureyri Viewpoint so you can enjoy the view over the town of Akureyri, the Bay and the mountains, and take pictures!
