Ethiopia, the original home of the coffee plant, coffee Arabica, which still grows wild in the forest of the highlands. While nobody is sure exactly how coffee was originally discovered as a beverage, it is believed that its cultivation and use began as early as the 9th century. Some authorities claim that it was cultivated in the Yemen earlier, around AD 575. The only thing that seems certain is that it originated in Ethiopia, from where it traveled to the Yemen about 600 years ago, and from Arabia it began its journey around the world.

Wenchi Crater Lake is a stunning volcanic lake located 155 km west of Addis Ababa. Surrounded by lush forests, waterfalls, and farmlands, it offers breathtaking scenery, hiking trails, horseback riding, and a boat trip to Cherkos Monastery, an ancient island church. Day 1- In the morning, fly north to Lalibela and be transferred to your hotel. After lunch, visit the first group of Lalibela Churches which are located north of a small stream named Jordan River. T Day 2- Drive to Semera (8hrs) Day 3 - In the morning drive to Kurswad via Afdera. On the way, visit Lake Afdera. Overnight : camping at Kurswad. Early in the morning around 3am visit the active Volcano in Ertale and then return to the camping site for breakfast. Day 4 - Visit Dalol In the morning after breakfast, drive to Dallol. On the way visit the salt mining market and caravans of camels. Overnight: at Hamedila. Day 5 - In the morning after breakfast, visit the beautiful and colorful Dallol creator and then afterwards, drive back to Semera and catch the last flight to back to Addis Ababa. Catch the last flight at 5:00.

4th century Ad rock hewn church "The Cave of Michael") is a rock-hewn semi-monolithic church located in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Historians and the Ethiopian Orthodox Church date it back as far as the 4th century AD pointing to its resemblance to Aksumite era churches in other regions of Ethiopia and to the Sabaean artifacts found at the site of the church. They further explain that structures in and around the church show that the area was once used as a training ground for the horsemen of the Aksumite armies of King Ezana, arguing that the area was one of the territory held by the vast Kingdom of Aksum.
