Day 1: Cairo to Bahariya Oasis, White Desert, Crystal Mountain, and White Desert The Bahariya Oasis Tour will commence with a prompt pickup from your hotel or selected location in Cairo or Giza. Your guide will then take you to the Bahariya Oasis, which is 4 hours away from Cairo. Upon reaching the destination, you will be served with lunch at a local restaurant. You will then be taken to the Black Desert, which is noted for its black volcanic hills and dolerite rocks. You will then drive towards the Crystal Mountain in the Valley of Agabat, to behold the quartz crystal deposits. Head to the White Desert National Park, where you can witness the elegant wind-carved rock formations. In the morning pick up from your hotel in Cairo and visit the Monastery of Saint Simon, also known as the Cave Church of Zabbaleen. It is located in the Mokattam Mountain, a short drive through the so called “Garbage City’ – a large population of garbage collectors or Zabbaleen that live there.
