We will arrive at the entrance to the hidden lagoons of Baltinache, where we can use the bathrooms before continuing the tour. We will follow the path that will take us through the seven lagoons that make up this wonderful landscape, of which only the last one can be used for swimming. Due to the amount of salt they contain, you will be able to experience the floating effect similar to that of the Dead Sea. After having seen this attraction in the middle of the Atacama Desert, we will begin our return, passing through the entrance facilities to use the bathrooms. On the way back, we will watch the sunset over the desert before arriving in the center of San Pedro de Atacama.

Toconao (Kunza Rincón perdido) enchants for its simplicity, calm of its people, special climate, beautiful architecture and crafts; We will visit the marginal area of the Salar de Atacama known as Laguna Chaxa located in Sector Soncor R.N.L. F. Later we headed towards the South East (Cordillera de los Andes) to settle in a Socaire Altiplanic Town, we visited its Church and learned about its agriculture. Once installed in the cordon of the Andes we headed approx. At 4200 masl to meet the Miscanti and Meñiques Lagoons. These lagoons belong to the R. N. Los F., characterized by volcanoes and mountainous reliefs such as the Miscanti hill and the Meñiques volcano. Both lagoons are born from groundwater from melting ice. Continuing along the slopes of the South Andes we head to the Salar de Talar Touristically known as Piedras Rojas, where the rocks are subjected to natural oxidation and weathering.

Who could imagine that in a desert it is possible to find so much water and such beautiful places. The region of the Hidden Lagoons of Baltinache is a true oasis. A majestic scenery rich in colors, sensations and of course – water. There are seven lagoons of clear water, with a transparency that will amaze you. We do not need to mention that it is sometimes impossible to reach them, due to the high concentration of salt in the water. The Hidden Lagoons are located at an altitude of 2,400 meters and temperatures vary from 5 to 30 ºC. The route is demarcated by stones, so the objective is to preserve the open nature, so that others can also enjoy the beauty of the place. Does it seem fair to us, right?

The land of water and fire. The heat generated by the active volcanoes of the region warms the underground waters. In contrast with the freezing temperatures of the surface, generous amounts of water vapor are produced. The result is a true spectacle of nature. A geothermical field with hundreds of geysers whose eruption throws bolling water and vapor to about 10 meters high. We arrive to the region before sun rise, reason why the temperatures could reach -20ºC, besides the fact that we will be at over 4.000 meters above sea level. That is why we recommend a night of full rest the day before and very warm clothes.
