Begin an unforgettable trip through almost 7,500 square miles (12,000 km²) of fantastic landscapes of salt and surrealist landscapes of deserts and colored lagoons of the Eduardo Avaroa Reserve. In winter (dry season from May to October), when the surface hardens, geometric figures formed by the salt particles agglomerated into polygons appear. In summer (rainy season from November to March) the salt desert is transformed into a giant mirror that blends into the sky of the purest blue you've ever seen before.

Traveling by bus from La Paz to the Uyuni Salt Flats is a convenient way to explore this wonderful salt flats. Night buses depart between 8:00 PM and 10:00 PM, arriving in the morning to begin the tour of the salt flats, which includes visits to the Train Cemetery and Incahuasi Island. Afterward, return by night bus to La Paz.
