A magical way to see the historical Port City, Fremantle.
Prior to British settlement, the indigenous Noongar people inhabited the area, knew it by the name of Walyalup. Visited by Dutch explorers in the 1600s, Fremantle was named after Captain Charles Fremantle. The convict-built Fremantle Prison and is now a World Heritage Site.
Fremantle was deepened for commercial shipping, into a bustling trade centre. Declared a city in 1929, Fremantle played a key role in World War II as the largest submarine base. Post-war immigration from Europe, particularly Italy, shaped Fremantle's character, after hosting the 1987 America's Cup. Today, Fremantle is recognised for Victorian and Edwardian streetscapes, convict-era heritage with a thriving arts and culinary scene.
The Fremantle War Memorial is located on Monument Hill, an 11-acre public reserve, the Fallen Soldiers' and Sailors' Memorial, established by the Fremantle Town Council in 1928 to commemorate the losses of the First World War.

The highlight of this tour for many is the beautiful natural feature of Wave Rock.
The Wheatbelt is a massive agricultural region extending from Geraldton (about 400km north of Perth) to Esperance (around 800km southeast of Perth). This full day private tour includes heritage towns and many natural attractions all located in the central Wheatbelt Region directly east of Perth.
I offer a lot of flexibility in this tour. If you prefer to stay a little longer at the expense of another location thats totally fine. The day can offer many things to different people.
There are a lot of changes in landscape simply because we cover a lot of ground in approximately 10 – 12 hours. It’s a visual feast for photographers and random stops are welcome!
After a one hour flight over the foothills and inland farming country you will enjoy a ground tour of Wave Rock. Experience the spiritual stillness of the Outback and the massive Wave Rock in the cool of the morning, before the lunchtime crowds arrive after their long morning bus drive. You’ll also get to see the curious “Hippo’s Yawn” rock. You will have time for morning tea, to purchase souvenirs and if you wish, stroll through the wildlife park, Toy Museum and Lace Museum.
Afterwards, you will fly to Cervantes; a small fishing village where you will take a tour of the Pinnacles Desert. These limestone pillars are scattered over a concentrated area, with nothing quite like it found anywhere else. We will then fly out over the Pinnacles and inaccessible Dead Pinnacles, then along endless beaches back to Perth.
Our combined air and ground tour is the perfect way to see Wave Rock without long, busy bus rides. Start with a scenic flight from Perth, flying out over foothills and into outback Australia. Soar over vast networks of colourful lakes, plotted in between forests and farmland only seen from the air. After touching down, our guides will drive you to one of WA’s premier attractions, the famous Wave Rock. Take a moment to absorb the spiritual stillness of the place, in the cool of the morning before the crowds. Afterwards, sit in awe under the shade of the massive wave and make the most of a photo opportunity.
Another lesser known attraction is Hippo’s Yawn. A marvelous rock formation which gets its name from it’s appearance – that of a giant hippo yawning. After exploring the rocky outcrops and unique structures, settle down with some morning tea, and perhaps a leisurely stroll through the local Wildlife Park, Toy Museum, or Lace Place.
One stunning package for seeing Western Australia – all in just one day. Kookaburra Air combines air and ground touring to make sure you get the very best experience of Wave Rock and Rottnest Island.

A hub of riverside cafes, bars and elegant homes, you could be forgiven for imagining yourself in a quaint European village. As we meander back through East Perth to the city, our route passes some of the city’s most beautiful heritage buildings including the famous Perth Mint, historic Government House and the lush Supreme Court Gardens.
